Living on a Prayer
Searing 48th, 122nd Year, A.o.S.

The smell had definitely told Rickter that there had been a change in the climate several hours ago, and now that had fallen once more he could see through the cracks of the locked sidedoor. Lights. So many lights within the distance that any civilization there could probably hardly sleep, yet such was the power of another technologically advanced nation. The Imperium. It had been just a pleasant nightmare trying to locate a train that would get them there, having to split off from Haqs to avoid taking the public transits bound to go southward. Imagine having to cut through Atinaw back then, Telion would've been so tickled to hear it.

At the very narrow sight of Gel'Grandal from what he could see, the lights had already grown closer as the wheels of the train continued their rickety intervals. Machines. Never thought he'd see the day he'd come to appreciate them as much as he did. Perhaps spending time in a metal box full of wheels, metal parts, and other things was being shipped within. Never did he believe he'd ever get his mind to wrap around it, but the fathom of it all stroked his curiosity even more. When he thought about it, magic and machines had interesting ways of connecting with one another, hell, most of the technology seemed to be produced off magic to a degree.

"I think it's about time, Dante." The wolf called over the low whir of the carts motions, his back pressed into the very door he was looking out of as he sat on the floor. It was a damn shame that he couldn't have reached Hannah, but hopefully, she made it back to Kalzasi to reunite with their pack. It was the only reasonable solution the wolf had when it came to Hannah, but something in his gut told him that was just wishful thinking. Still, after checking the straps still wrapped around his forearms, the wolf admittedly felt impressed with how much better they felt. There wasn't a burning aftershock like he'd expected, likely because of his trip into the Aetherium though.

That didn't mean he still felt numbness within the fingers of his left arm, perhaps a gentle reminder of what it would cost to over-exert himself in such a way again. "Alright, let's get this show on the road." The wolf sighed as he looked up to the roof of the cart they were in, clearly not thrilled about having to climb up there. "We'll need to be ready to jump off soon. The less noticeable we are, well, you get the idea mate." He murmured as he pushed himself off his rump and onto his feet, his leather boots completely worn out from the amount of hiking and seeming they've endured.

Once he rose onto his feet the wolf adjusted the straps of his suspenders, noting the fact that he'd need a new set of clothes once inside. Getting the lay of the land is what unnerved him the most though, considering the wolf would be going blindly into enemy territory.

Dante had been meditating for most of the train ride, replaying the events from the meeting with the gods over and over in his head. He etched each of their faces and visages into his mind, unable to forget such a presence as theirs. It was not every day one got to meet the gods, let alone be given a task by them personally. There was a lot at stake for them both, the vampyre looking over at the wolf for a brief moment before returning his gaze to the ceiling of the train car.

He had remembered the stories his father would tell of the "homeland" of Gel'Grandel, of its majesty and beauty, painting a picturesque place where those who worked for it could live out their heart's desires. Now he was coming to tear it apart, involuntarily by freeing their most prized prisoner. The wrath of a demigod who presided over justice could mean many things, but more importantly, to have fulfilled a favor for the King of Gods would come in handy down the line if the vampyre played his cards right.

When RIckter spoke of getting ready to exit their mode of transportation, the vampyre stood and dusted his clothing off as he moved to join Rickter at the door of the cart of the train. Looking up and onto the horizon, he could see the lights of the city too. So many feelings came over him, but for now, he would push them aside in order to achieve this divine goal. Walking to the edge of the opening of the train cart. With a huff, he made his way onto the top of the train cart.
