"Common" ☵ "Synskrit" ☵ Thoughts
☵ The evening sun was tucking itself within the horizon as the young Hattori sat upon the roof outside his bedroom window. The words of Kurogane resonated in his mind as he pondered why he wanted to join the....the Scholia Arcana? He knew next to nothing about them, but the fact they were a group of mages intrigued him greatly.
Even more so the fact that there was so much knowledge to be gained by joining them. This was quite the opportunity, but Lady Kurogane's words still hung heavy in his mind. What do I seek? he thought to himself, not really sure himself. He knew what it could do for him, but he didnt know why he was so fascinated with magic as a whole.
It was at this moment however, his faith, ideals, and perspective of the path he walked would be tested. He wasn't sure what he would say is his reason for seeking them out, but he knew he would have to figure it out soon. As he sat there watching the sunset and noticed a presence behind him. "Come out or your death won't be pleasant!" He growled, his voice carrying an air of intimidation with each word.
Stepping from the shadows of his bedroom, his mother came into view, a smile perched on her face. "Now is that any way to greet the woman who gave you the gift of life after so many years?" She said, arms resting under her bust and a look of curiosity on her face. She came out and sat down next to her son, rubbing his back to comfort her child. "It has been quite some time since we had a casual conversation? You seem like you have a lot on your mind my little viper?" She asked, tilting her head to the side trying to meet his eyes.
Kotoru chuckled as she was actually correct. He looked up as the night sky began to blanket across the sky. "I found a place full of magic and new experiences. Your friend, Ms. Kurogane, called them the Scholia Arcana. I wanna join them, but I'm not all too sure why. I mean I feel that with them I can become greater, evolve into something more. But I don't think that's a good enough reason."
His tone was a little heavy as he spoke, a weight of concern in his voice. "My apologies mother, I don't mean to be in such low spirits, I just don't think I'm good enough. Please forgive me." he apologized, resting his head on his mother's shoulder.
She laughed a little, patting his head as he wrapped an arm around him. It was rare for her to see him with such confliction, but she was a mother and Ayane would dod what a mother could to encourage her child of course. Kissing the top of his head she poked his nose with her finger.
"There is no need to beat yourself up about that, after all, you are my child, so never think you are not good enough." she said, lifting his head, as to look him in the eyes. As she gazed at him, she began to giggle. "Well look at this, you must have advanced in your Summoning to have such beautiful eyes. You have acquired your very first quirk, it's far too astounding to be hidden from the world." She reassured, standing to her feet as she rubbed his as she spoke
"I'm sure if you look deep within your soul you'll find the conviction you need. There is a reason you have such a strong feeling of wanting to join them. I beleive that the Scholia Arcana will be good for you. It will help you become a better person, and an astounding wizard." she added, walking along the roofing of the estate.
Taking his mother's words to heart he reflected as both mother and son gazed up to the moon as it cascaded its light over the city.
What was it he sought in the world of magic? What was his driving force in his pursuit of magic? Was it to become greater than he already was like he already believed?
No that was not enough. As he meditated on the topic, he remembered the first time he saw magic for the first time. Watching his mother practice it was an exhilarating experience for him. To him, it was like watching a god perform miracles for such pitiable mortals. It inspired him to become strong like her, to become more than a noble who could fight well.
He wanted to be more than what was expected of him, and magic was his outlet. He then knew why he wanted to be apart of this organization so badly. It wasn't because of the opportunity it would afford him, not that it was a bad thing. No, he wanted to be apart of this organization to obtain all the knowledge he could, to wield the power that came with unlocking the mysteries of the arcane itself.
That was the reason he liked magic so much, not for the flare of how it looked, no it was because of the many mysteries it held, and unlocking the power from solving them. That was his reason for wanting to be apart of them. Smirking he opened his eyes, standing to look upon the shining moon with his mother.
"You seem to found your conviction, my child. That's good, never lose that feeling, it will help in the days to come along your journey." she purred, looking to her child now as he stared into the night. She was happy to see him recover so quickly from his pity party.
"I plan to learn all I can, become a powerful wizard, not just in summoning, but in other magical arts as well. I want to use the knowledge and power I gain to carve my name into history, and to write my own destiny. In order to do that I need to be apart of the Scholia Arcana. They are a crucial part of my ambition." he declared raising a fist to the night sky.
Come morning he would ensure that he was apart of this organization, no matter the sacrifice. ☵
