Now that everyone was ashore, now that Norani was confident that Yeva was safe, albeit wet and bedraggled, now that Ruvaf had come down and landed in the sand, squawking in curiosity, Norani's mind set forth into a mode of duty. They were in a land unknown to them, with some supplies, for seemingly a year, if one were to believe the captain, which she was not. She knew not where they were but it mattered not, being in unknown territory was dangerous.
She needed to secure the safety of the area, and to do that, she needed eyes. She looked up the gentle slope of the beach to the mangroves, and she unhooked one of her chakrams, a fighting one, from her hip, and she began the hike over the warm sands. She was confident that the group would be safe here on the beach, protected by one another. Yeva would be safe with them.
