The warmth of the desert sun was well received by the vampyre as it washed over his bare. This morning Dreyfus found himself out in the sands of the Atraxian Expanse, the mage putting his kinetic powers to use. The thunderous sound of the impact of boulders being hurled across at dizzying speeds echoed as Dreyfus practiced. He was trying to become more efficient in maneuvering large objects around in case he would have to fight while here. Mustering up a new set of boulders, he would repeat the process.

He allowed the first few masses of rock to fly, gauging just how fast he could launch them with push, cutting out the interval of seconds in between each shot. After a few more rounds, he began to settle into a calm, almost meditative process of self-awareness to ensure each shot would fly faster than the last. Readying himself he launched the first one, keeping the momentum as he spun into the next shot, then the last. Each one was just a second or two faster than its predecessor, which caused a slight smirk to form on Dreyfus's face.

Sweat began to drip from his face as the desert sun barred down on him as he practiced his arcane talent, but he couldn't stop. He had to perfect a new technique he had come across when he fought the abominations in Zaichaer. Approaching one of the larger boulders, he began to manipulate the aether in front of it, visualizing putting a hole in it. With a flick of his wrist he punched a whole into the aether around the center of the boulder. He watched as when left alone the hole he made devoured itself, causing an implosion within the boulder.

He was impressed with it.

The guards had been alerted to a disturbance in the desert. From what had supposedly sounded like the crashing of boulders — a landslide, perhaps, of some packed earth becoming loose — but it was going on for far longer than one would expect. It had been described as methodical, and it was disturbing the animals and other beasts. As such, Æden volunteered to scout it out on Sandworm before the wild wyverns in the area became exceptionally upset.

He had not been flying for long before he heard the first explosion, which caused Sandworm to swerve away from it. If he had not been prepared for the possibility, he could have fallen. His eyes roamed the desert expanse, and it was not until after the third explosion that he saw a pair of men standing near cliffs that — given their shape — could have easily been nesting grounds for wild wyverns. Sandworm was spitting mad, acid hitting the sand, still shy of full force. Her scorpion tail waved angrily in the air, and when he dismounted some distance from the explosions, he wished he could take a moment to calm her down. She followed behind him as he approached the cause of the sound, given the shattered boulders around him, even from a distance.

Must have been kinetics. And must have been foreigners, if he thought it was safe to alert and anger every beast in a ten-mile radius. Sound traveled far in the desert, and the cliffs echoed.

"Do you know what you're doing?" He called at the figures in the desert, calm even if he yelled loud enough for them to hear him. As he came closer, Sandworm a dozen feet behind him, looking stormy and disturbed. "Do you know what lives out here?" He asked. Æden was dressed in his guard armor, striking in the sunlight and difficult to look at this time of day. Despite the gold-painted steel, he didn't seem to be breaking much of a sweat, and he didn't sink into the sand as he walked. His face was obscured by his helm except for his mouth and part of his nose. If much attention was paid, he was obviously a member of the guard of Solunarium.

He felt the disturbance in the flux of aether around him before he saw the source, causing him stop mid attack onto the inanimate stone. Lookin in the direction it was coming from Dreyfus began to mentally prepare himself for what came next. It was likely a patrol coming to see about the noise. He could have sworn he was far enough away from anyone that he wouldnt be a problem as he practiced, but it seemed he was mistaken.

Dimitri had seen the look of concern on the face of his Vampyre master, his rifle quickly coming into his hands and was locked and loaded. Both men watched as a sentry descended some feet away from them, riding atop a dragon no less, and where the human seemed astonished and cautious of the creature, Dreyfus wasnt all that amazed. A dragon was nothing compared to a conversation with the gods.

When the man spoke, Dreyfus took in his appearance. The shimmering opulence of the man's armor made it clear he was no mere sentry, but a person of importance. Without thinking Dreyfus formed an anchor on the center of his chest. He crafted the ward to block the man from coming too close to him. It would not be in his best interest to allow this person to get within striking distance. As the shimmer of his shield came into place, the vampyre put on the best friendly face he could muster when he went to respond.

"My apologies. I figured we were far enough away that it wouldnt be an issue." though as he answered he quirked a brow as to what the other meant by his last statement. "I cant say that I do know what lives out here. Forgive me as I am a recent transplant from Zaichaer." he admitted with a polite bow, Dimitri coming to him with a shirt.
