Upon assumption of dead Nazam's domain, Kala began to notice a strangeness to her magic. Though the firmament was shadowed by the Eclipse, she could sense the stars and they could sense her—their new avatar. Perhaps the veil of the Eclipse was the reason their power only slowly seeped into her Craft. But as her insight into the stars increased, so too did its applications to her control of the elements.
For example, Fire had long ago claimed her, but now she could wield Starfire. The furnaces of Creation are known to her, and while partical physics has yet to be discovered, she has intuitive knowledge of such things. She knows the fire that burns, the fire that brings wasting sickness, and the fire that changes matter. While she has never been a gardener, she knows Wood. Now she also knows how life is affected by the radiation of alien suns.
While the Draegir of Stars long protected Ransera from orbital debris, His death was heralded by the catastrphe that created Starfall. The well-guarded and obscured crater is home to a small supply of dragonshards unseen elsewhere in the world. Now, Kala can create star shards much as she would a lodestone.
