This adventure had not been at all what Kaiko had expected. She expected lots of rum and sea beasts. Instead on the ship she had met some of the crew and got annoyed by her rice barrel teleporting across the ship. It wasn't bad though as she met Norani who likes to let things free after Kaiko caught them. She had even grown excited about the shallow water as she wanted to show off all the different colors and creatures from her world.

After their arrival on land she had helped take down a giant sea crab which helped feed the camp for a few days. But now something even more dangerous sleeps below the waves. Now she has avoided the deeper waters to stay safe from a giant squid.

She had almost lost her flute because of a monkey. Kaiko had almost drowned that day but luckily had been saved by Norani. Kaiko had found a baby otter and had told many stories and played many songs. She has found that she doesn't like dragonfly boy at all. She has also found that land living was way harder than she had thought possible.

Kaiko sat beneath a tree with her journal. A pin rested in her right hand as she sat watching the otter play. She had planned on working on the new song about the expedition she had promised the captain she would write. But once again found herself distracted.

Fluff had found himself a small crab and was trying to find a way to catch it without getting caught. Fluff seemed to dance around the crab as the crab held up its claws. Getting close caused the claws to pinch close or stay open and sway. The otter would grow tired of this and find a stick to get the crab to hold on to. When it returned with the stick it used it to distract the claws. Minutes later the otter was enjoying the sweet meat inside the crunchy shell.

Kaiko smiled at her baby otter. It was growing up so fast. She looked around then back to the paper.

Chirrup.

The small sound carried on the gentle sea breezes toward the young Kaiko and Fluff. Fluff's head would perk, recognizing the sound. It easily could've been mixed up with the many bird calls, insect chirps, and other voices that echoed out of the jungle.

Chirrup, chirrup.

Out in the horseshoe shaped bay, a small lump was sticking out of the calm water,s curious eyes staring at the pair on the beach. In the distance, a pod of dolphins were leaping out of the water, laughing and playing. It continued to chirrup at them, sounding a bit excited, or maybe concerned. It could often be difficult to tell with otters. After some time, it melted into the water and disappeared.

Above Kaiko, far, far above, a dark cloud began to form. Kaiko could feel the air getting drier and drier, as the cloud grew bigger and bigger, far faster than any cloud had reason to do so. It blocked out what little twilight came around the dark orb that was eclipsing the sun, sending Kaiko's world into a nighttime like darkness. Soon, the cloudhead began to crackle and rumble with growing thunder.

Crack!

Lightning crashed across the sky. And with it, a roar as rain began to fall, heavily. The rain drops were the size of grapefruit, and fell heavily. They broke branches in nearby trees and were painful enough to cause bruising as they fell. The sand on the beach exploded as the drops landed, and creatures of all kinds were sent scurrying for cover.

Nearby, a large swarm of crabs in stony shells were running toward the ocean, disappearing beneath the surface of the water. The dolphins out in the bay were no longer visible, and the happy sounds of the creatures within the jungle were now cries of panic and distress.
