Company: Yumeko| Thoughts: Defend the Village| Mood: Concerned
龍 With everything that had transpired from previous seasons, Hikami found that he was unable to visit the village he had been given stewardship over. The eclipse had crippled him greatly, and part of him worried day after day about their survival. The one chance to show the Iron Queen his worth and he was locked in his bed less he turn into a watery mess. Now that magic seemed to return to the world, he was free to move around and made his way straight to the village.
He was lucky that Yumeko was a leader in her own right, and sent a small contingent of soldiers and provisions that could be spared to them while he was bedridden, but something was off, as she hadn't heard from them in quite some time. As they round the bend toward the village she could see why now. The village was in the path of a large horde of shadow beasts. Corrupted livestock and animals from the Wild King's Forge marched in a crazed procession toward the village. Before she could speak a word, she watched frozen wings of prismatic crystal appear, carrying Hikami toward the village.
Panic villages and hardened soldiers stood along the village fortifications as they watched the encroaching horde advance. The vanguard of the horde broke off, advancing at an alarming speed. They resembled rhinos, their forms bloated and grotesque came barrelling forth, but what met them wasn't the fortifications of the village. Instead, their stampede was thwarted by the erection of a wall of ice and from it jagged shards of ice that stabbed and skewered them. Behind that wall stood Hikami, ice glittering away from his back as his frozen wings vanished, one of his pact weapons forming in his hands.
Tapping it on the ground, he sent a wave of ice up and around the village fortifications coating them him a thick layer of ice. It felt good to flex his aetherical muscles now that he could, and this was the perfect chance to knock the rust off of him. With their defenses reinforced, he turned his attention to the approaching horde. Aoi Ryu was his weapon of choice, a cold aura emanating from it as he dismissed the jagged ice barrier, staring down the horde. From behind it Yumeko had arrived and began to decimate the shadow beasts, which was a signal for Hikami to attack them from the front.
In a span of an hour, both Yumeko and Hikami cleared the area of shadow beasts, ensuring none could flee. Once the coast had been cleared, both warriors approached the village gates, Hikami dropping the icy barrier with a wave of his hand. "Now comes the Hard part." he mumbled, Yumeko placing a gentle hand on his back, nudging him forward. Do not falter now nephew, Im sure what comes now is what is fated. I'm sure they will be understanding. 龍
