The Bloodline of Haldir
- The Black Wraiths, the Ravens of Death, Black Justicars, and Grief Eaters. These are just some of the names and monikers given to those who possessed the blood of the otherworldly assassin Haldir. Witness to great tragedy and unbearable grief Haldir was given a chance to ease the suffering and grief of his people, becoming a peerless killer in the name of Drimera, Mother of Tears. No one knows truly the deal or bargain that was struck between the siltori and the Mistlord, but what is known is that the price was well worth it. Haldir went on to establish one of the many assassin orders under Drimera's call. It is said that those who bear his blood, when awoken, have their eyes changed, a symbol of the promise made between Haldir & Drimera.
- It has been noted by the few who have recorded it, that to awaken this bloodline, one must experience unimaginable grief and loss. It is in that moment that the bearer of the Bloodline will hear the whisper of someone, most saying a female's voice, speaking these words. "I now grant you the eyes of retribution, so that you may see your transgressor's death be quick, and your grief quieted. Their eyes will then shift to an amethyst hue, and vibrant red effigy hugging the iris of their eyes. It is also noted that those of this bloodline have the compulsion to devise a myriad of ways to end a person's life, some thinking it to be a residual effect from the assassin progenitor of the bloodline.
- The Thread of Retribution is an ability to guide the user towards an opponent's opening point in order to deliver and quick and clean death. It allows the bearer to follow the thread with their weapon towards an opponent's weak point which defines the best place to deliver a killing blow or severely crippling blow.
Using their eyesight, the bearer of this bloodline is able to perceive the slight pause in an enemy's movement that creates an opening that they can utilize. The Thread of Retribution gives its bearer a path to follow in order to attack the vital point of an enemy. Detecting the thread is often the most vital part in most of the bearer's battles once freshly awoken to the bloodline, as their fights often involve surviving against the enemy onslaught long enough to visualize the thread for a successful strike. This visualization begins, growing out from the weapon or point of attack from the Bearer, and slowly fading into existence as the combat continues. Once the Opening Point is revealed, the path glows bright and will not change. It must be noted that even with this Path revealed, the Bearer must still have the physical skill to enact the attack. If not on even or greater terms of combat skill, enacting the pathway becomes much more difficult.
While it gives the bearer a significant advantage to quickly retain the upper hand with a clear path to victory, the thread has a distinct and major flaw. Damage or obscuring his eyesight will force the Thread of Retribution to "snap", causing blindness in the user for 60 seconds. If used again within 30 days, this effect doubles, and the timer resets. If used again, it will double again, stacking infinitely based on use.
