♅ Path to Grandmaster Vitalis ♅
Is this a skill that defines the character? Is it something that you can imagine them without?
- Vitalis has become something that Dreyfus has come to rely on daily, as it is something that keeps him sustained. He has come to master it in the short time he has had it. It has become as easy to him as breathing would be. It is also the vehicle in which he can use to put some of his plans into motion and really start making some waves.
- As the writer, I have no qualms with Dreyfus losing vitalis. Dreyfus on the other hand would sunder the heavens and gods themselves if it meant he could keep it. It unfortunately is not a magic he can part with like some of his other runes as it is what helps in keeping him alive and healthy, along with drinking enough blood of course.
How often do they use the skill? If it is something used infrequently, it is likely not a candidate for Grandmaster.
- Because of his fascination with the magic he has learned every technique at his disposal{Except Bloodseed & Harvest as I have some threads planned where he will use them.} Because it has become a part of his daily life and dealings with people or situations I can safely say he uses it with every breath he takes.
- Dreyfus has done much to understand the magic of Vitalis, experimenting with how acidic he can make his blood, to using vicissitude to form his own flesh to his will and using brands to either torture or heal people. That being said he often only uses it as a last and final resort, or when he knows there will be no witnesses to his vampyric acts.
- I've come to find his trademark use of the magic is with vicissitudes as he is prone to use it to form hardened blades of flesh that extend from his forearms. That and using it to change his face when need be or to form giant fleshy hand wings. It is an ability within his roster that has become second nature for him.
- I would believe so. Most of the pcs that know of him now he's no longer human{Talon, Rickter, Hilana, Khyan, Ivar} some deducing that about him rather quickly as well. He is not shy about this information but he is aware that too much attention can be dangerous.
- At first Dreyfus had been learning and using Vitalis as a means to secure his freedom. He has since traveled to most of the active player cities on Ransera, Kalzasi, Imperium, Solunarium, & even Ecith. He has inspired a young mind{Hilana} in the ways of magic and given a spark to her magical curiosity, he has flung himself into the rift over Zaichaer to meet the gods and try and fix things, and now he has returned to his homeland to help in its restoration, meanwhile saving refugees and having a cult of "Healing Blood" slowly build under him, as his use of Vitalis has inspired people who would have shunned and ostracized him for it with hope for a better future under his protection.
He aided Rickter in his attempt to free Talon in the Imperium, tho that didn't go as planned. He even now has a directive from the son of the Dragon God of War to bring war upon the Imperium. Granted I can say I may have not done much, but given what I have planned now for him and what delicious plots I have been given I do believe he can impact others' writing in either a positive or negative way if he is able to push himself and this magic to Grandmastery. He is prepared to fight for his goals, no matter who gets in his way, and everyone needs a villain to play their part.
