One of the lessons Hilana remembered from her childhood was shooting from a moving position. It was one thing to be able to stand there and hit a target, it was another thing entirely to do it while you were seated on an animal and you were trying to hit something. She had also had the option offered to her, and taken away as consequences for poor behaviour on her part. It may not have seemed like poor behaviour at the time, but it definitely was. She could admit that now. That lesson took many months to earn back, but it had been an important one. A lot of time spent dismounting from a camel could not only cost you your shot, but it could well disturb whatever you were trying to hit, like an antelope or even another person, Founders perish the thought, but sometimes that was necessary. If it was kill or be killed, Hilana wasn't in a great hurry to depart the sands for the next life.

And when the opportunity to hunt came, if you squandered it, you might never get an another opportunity. Life in the desert wasn't always as simple as going down to the market, purchasing something to eat, and going about your day. It was easy to get divorced from the concept of food and where it came from, and what was sacrificed to achieve it. But Hilana knew and she respected it, and she did love eating wild game. There was something about the taste of it that was different from domesticated livestock, and it was something that she had grown up on.

But all of that said, she had rarely taken a shot from a camel when it came to hunting. But it wouldn't hurt to practice, would it?

The sun had already set, and Hilana was on Hayima'el, circling a number of sand pillars that she had raised with Elementalism. It was nearly cheating, as the pillars didn't move, but being able to hit the target accurately when the target wasn't moving was a good start to hitting a moving target while she was moving.
