ALIQVID IMPIVD ILLAM VIAM VENIT
1 Ash 122
It was the first day of a new season in Solunarium and the tidings were fell. The volcanic mountain around which the settlement of Vastium had been built by wayward humans millennia prior was beginning to roil with smoke. Mount Sorokyn was sacred to the Solunarian people and had been since before they had legitimate cause to decide as much. The early Vastians were grateful to the mountain for providing them with the bounty of precious metals and dragonshards. They saw their landmark on the Vasta as a promised land. Centuries later, they would discover the ruins of an ancient city in the caverns beneath. Later still, the apotheosis of their Founders and the emergence of the mighty wyrms would further vindicate those early feelings of reverence they hadn't been able to articulate at the time. 1 Ash 122

They would find the Umbrium warmer than was usual, but still far cooler than above and it least it wasn't afflicted with that ghastly smell.
Meanwhile, the people aboveground who hadn't the luxury to leave the Luxium, were forced to deal with both the smell and the sense of dread that accompanied the black clouds gathering above...
