Special

Vitalis

Motif: Control

Vergil finds himself most at peace when he's in control of a situation.

This was something about himself that, upon discovering, he wanted to put to benevolent use. In his younger years, he found he could satisfy this compulsion of his through medicine. While he does derive genuine joy from helping people alone, he also receives undeniable satisfaction in those moments where the lives of others are in his hands.

Benevolence: (affecting Vitalis skill: ‘Inflame’) Apprentice

Instead of causing pain, Vergil's Inflame can soothe it.

Magnetism: (affecting Vitalis skill: ‘Pheromancy’) Journeyman

Those affected by Vergil's Pheromancy, regardless of purpose, will be find his presence soothing even after the effects wear off. They will find him to be naturally more trustworthy and disarming and will give more weight to his words.

Magnanimous Control: (affecting Vitalis skill: 'Rhabdomancy/Innervate’) Expert

Since gaining the rune, Vergil has made use of both Innervate and Rhabdomancy in his career as a chirurgeon. Usually, he'll use both at the same time; one to heal, one to keep his patients completely still. Over time, this has resulted in the lines between the two spells blurring– he can Innervate the subjects of his Rhabdomancy in lieu of having to touch them.

Sanguine Simulacrum: (affecting Vitalis skill: ‘bloodseed’)
Master

After creating his first bloodseed, Vergil was inspired to push the boundaries of what one could do with the technique. Weaving together his consummate knowledge and skills of biology, medicine, surgery, Vitalis and even Necromancy, he has composed a method to grow clones out of smaller sections of the body.

Taking, for example, a finger; he can carefully wield his magics to craft a copy of whomever discarded the body part. Unlike a traditional bloodseed, however, these clones do not allow for resurrection. And while they wholly lack sentience, they have hearts that beat and brains that maintain homeostasis. These simulacrums are dormant puppets unless modified further by world magics to hold soul shards or are possessed by spirits.

Puppeteer: (affecting Vitalis skill: 'Sanguine Simulacrum’) Master

If Vergil crafts his puppets out of his own body or infuses his Vitale into them, he can use them as projections of himself. As such, he can use them as conduits for his magic.

Your request has been received and is pending review, while the outcome of the Western Tower Thread is unresolved. As the stakes of the aforementioned thread are potentially life-altering or even life-ending, we'll await the conclusion of that plot to assess the above. Please be patient with us and we apologize for the delay, but it seems practical to wait. As we've seen in previous tower threads, conditions may change a great deal and there's no way of gauging how relevant this will be subsequent to the ongoing plot.
