The Astralar Mountains themselves tower into the skies cresting over 28,000 feet at their highest point. The mountains consist of a variety of minerals ranging from the curious stone called Ebberite to granite, marble, precious gemstones and others. Home to a variety of mountain-born creatures, the Astralar are not a place easily traversed. While there are numerous pathways both known and unknown, the safest and most traversable among them is the Black Road. The pathway is patrolled by the rangers of Kalzasi often enough to be kept in viable condition most of the year.
About the Region
The Astralar Mountain range is a vast landscape of sharp hills and high altitudes, the central peaks of Terra Nimbus floating above 28,000 feet alone. The massive structures of spines peppered in frost carry a spectrum of dark shades, often the most prominent cause being Ebberite; a mineral described as black gold. Scholars have speculated that the Astralar Mountain was home to a great number of dragons ages ago, only somewhat explaining the possibility of its existence. It is known that a few actual Dragonflight do dwell in the mountains, the most recently seen a Black Dragonflight, as the entire mountain range spans from Lake Udori all the way into the Eastern Ruins of the Northern Wilds.
The Astralar Mountains are scaled in three sections, with Kalzasi based on their northwestern slopes, and the Black Road that winds throughout the lower peaks of the mountain range. The rangers of House Dahshida do their best to keep the routes safe, as it's where those who detour from the path find themselves at the mercy of the pass. The mountains are filled with an entire ecosystem of animals and creatures that thrive off the sparse vegetation, which combined with the climate and structure of the mountain, keeps even the Vykul Clans from the east invading the Northlands.
