Hello! And Welcome to the Community Development Forum! Inside here you will find all the amazing ideas and creativity of our players, and wonderful contributors to the setting that is Ransera. We have a lot to cover in regards to topics, but before that, we'll start by explaining what the development forum is for. Have you ever wanted to create a creature that you think is cute and would fit well within the lore of Ransera? Or perhaps thought about what an interesting concept of technology might exist here? Well, that's exactly the purpose of the Community Development forum, to take those ideas in mind and allow the community to share their ideas with everyone. We, the staff, encourage this among our players because it's fun and we enjoy some of the concepts you all come up with!
Therefore, to help make the creation process easier, we've compiled this guide to help our player base during their stages of development!
The Main Forum
Within the main Community Forum is where most of our projects will be posted in, as the main forum covers the spectrum of general things such as fauna, flora, to even medicines and their reagents. When you're looking to create an article within the Community Forum, you should first consider what the topic of that article is. To help with that we've got the basic categories listed below:
- Fauna
- Flora
- Technology
- Alcoholic Beverages
- Poisons, Drugs, Medicines, Reagents
When you know what kind of article you wish to create, feel free to browse for a base template you can use. They're found within the Community Article Templates here!
Tagging Projects
When you create your article one of the things that helps with sorting them into the Directories is giving them a Tag, [tag] if you would, that puts a label on the type of project you are creating. Tags allow the mods to sort projects effectively, and keep tabs on projects that are currently in development. When you create a thread for a project article you're working on, you should look at the title of your thread and consider what type of category this project falls under; and then proceed to label it with a tag! These are just some examples of what a tagged project would look like in the Community Development:
- [Poison] Magebane Drought [Review]
- [Fauna] Astralar Elk
- [Technology] Pepperbox Flintlock Pistol [WIP]
Also, notice the addition of the [WIP] and [Review] tags? When you create a project but plan to finish it overtime, you can add the [WIP] tag to show that your project is still being worked on. When a project is finished and ready for a mod to step in for the reviewing process, you can then change that to [Review] when you feel the article is ready. From that point a mod will come in to review your finished article, and once everything is checked and confirmed by the mod, they will proceed to create a link to the article within the Directory that it corresponds with.
The Community Directory
As we add approved articles into the Directory you will find that, at the top within the Announcements, there are the several branches used to sort them. The Directories are utilized to navigate the Community Forum at a faster pace, as they display a detailed index of approved materials and where they reside.
The Domain Sub-Forums
You'll find that within the Main Forum of Community Development, there are Domain Community Forums found near the top. These are specific development forums that focus on aspects of a domain, such as Kalzasi or Zaichaer, where articles are based on faucets of them in turn. Locations, NPC's, and even cultural articles the focus of these forums, as their resources are tied to the development of the domain itself.
Submitting Development for Review
When your article is ready for review create a ticket in the Support Forum. The title of the ticket should match the title of the article in the Community Development Forum. You can use the following template:
