History
Amersis was born aboard the Crocodile along the River Vasta. His mother, a Rathari of mixed Elven heritage birthed him alone, his father long since forgotten about in a port of the past. The Rathari bloodline had carried dominantly through his mother's side, a matrilineage of Solunarium born shifters, mingling with native born elves. It is unclear when the first Rathari ancestry was introduced, but was likely done so in a foreign port, following an unspoken tradition in the family.
Amersis lived with his mother aboard the ships she worked, learning the trade of being a Ship's Cat. As Tertium was the primary port, he grew to love it's diversity, finding many curiosities to chase after and sate his desires. He's not particularly fond of the capital as much, for when they visited there, the higher born children made sure that he knew his place in the caste. This has translated to him only ever rarely taking jobs on ships that head to the capital, usually only if there's no others available at the time.
Amersis has now begun taking on jobs aboard longer traveling vessels across the Crystal Sea, a yearning to see more ports, meet more people, discover more curiosities, but he always returns to Tertium, stops by one of his many favorite taverns, shares his stories, chases those who've caught his eyes, and boards the next ship out. He's well known in the various rest houses, entertainment venues, and, of course, at port. He can often be found cozying up to captains, firstmates, dockhands, quartermasters and the like. In these circles, he's a Ship's Cat, a respected title among his family, elsewhere, he's simply a stray that none know.
He doesn't keep a permanent home, has no permanent relationships or ties, except for those that come with his favorite venues and ships. Many know him, few know him well, and he's usually gone before one gets the chance. He's never shown any interest at improving his rank, at working toward a higher goal, toward anything. He's a cat in the wind, and that's all he wishes to be.
