The Patriarch as well as Kozoku of the House of Waves. Otis is a sailor of both the sea and sky due to his naval and skyfaring knowledge, having spent his early adulthood within the sailor's guild of Tirek. He is the youngest of the three Maze brothers, however, when the eldest brother of the three Mazes suffered from a fatal accident; the event of loss triggered Otis enough to decidedly leave Tirek as well as the borders of Atinaw. He sought to build a new life within the Northern Jewel of Karnor, and even escorted his own secret love interest there in hopes of integrating her into the newly attained political status he married into.

However, the war came, and while he spent much of his effort providing supply runs through his new Kalzasian business, his beloved Atinoran passed away long before he could ever return to her. Thus he has never known of the secret revolving around his firstborn son, Rickter, and has focused solely on the immediate family he started to build after his return from the war.

Biography

Erikson is the second-born son of the previous Maze generation, who served faithfully in the ranks of the Dawnmartyrs; since the time their ancestors served within the Age of Sundering. He was a devoted soldier dedicated to refining his skills, in an effort to aid in the deliverance of salvation to the rest of Ransera. He, like his older brother before him, shared in the dream of building a world where others did not have to suffer, a world where his peers could live peacefully as guardians of the light. However, when a fatal accident claimed their older brother, Erikson's faith and ideals in the Order were soon shattered; and the last line of Mazes suddenly dwindled to two.

When Otis learned of what happened after he finished his tenure at the university, he decidedly wished to relocate and build his life anew somewhere in the north; while Erikson sought to find answers about their ancestral history within the Dawnmartyr's archives. When he had learned of a consistency found in their records, and how generations would seemingly flourish before being snuffed out, he knew immediately he needed to seek out the only family he had left. What he did not expect to find when in Kalzasi was the life Otis had already built for himself, and the secret he kept hidden away within the cabaret while he was away on work.

Yet the mysterious flame Erikson thought to discover had already passed, and instead, a motherless child remained within the care of those at the cabaret. Determined to do everything he could to protect the next generation that was to come, Erikson made arrangements so that another family of fishers would raise the child, until such a time came when the Spellforged Dawnmartyr wasn't caught up in fighting wars between nations.

Biography

A daughter of a prominent family under the Great House Veyl, Selene married Otis out of political arrangement in the beginning, but started to take a liking the foreigner from the southern province. While Otis spent years building his shipping enterprise within the city proper, she in return provided support before finding out of a secret affair he shared with another. Driven to learn what she could of this it didn't take her long before she discovered where this secret flame was being kept, and when she herself went there to discover the legacy left behind at the loss awaiting the skyfaring captain.

Decidedly wishing to keep the baby's birth a secret from Otis, Selene resolved to leave Rickter where he was as punishment for the affair, that is until Erikson's intervention led to the boy being given a selected home within the Lower Commons of Kalzasi. Ever since then, she has begrudgingly grown to forgive Otis for his attachments, the couple starting their own family years later after the secret she and Erik kept buried.

Biography

The believed "Firstborn" within the House of Waves. Maximus grew up learning and understanding the two separate cultures his parents shared, and over the years adopted the role of Kozoku heir to the House, before taking a personal interest in magical studies and applications. An avid researcher that spends his time practicing alchemy, he seeks to build an empire out of the shipping enterprises his father had created. One that will hopefully bring honor to the name Maze, due to the difficult history that his parents have had when they first started out.

Maximus is a curious intellectual whose ego is only inflated by youth, his pride as the next alleged hair to the House of Waves getting in the way of his outlook every now and then. He is not without faults of course, and he can often recognize the folly of his actions in his own time. He is, however, driven by a moral compass that points to his family, and merely wants to garner his own fame and recognition when the time comes.

Ramilia is the second addition to grace the House of Waves. Unlike her older brother who is ambitiously dutiful, Ramilia actually wishes to build her own workshop instead. She is a stubborn and curious individual with a knack for crafting things, as well as having a wicked sharp tongue, one that brings with it a penchant for trouble when she is not careful.

While Rami doesn't really worry about bringing honor to her house, she still does love and care about her family, which is why she often slips to the Midden to sell any wares she crafts on the black market. She's also been rumored to partake in the Pinnacle Games that go on within the deep, though, none have actually confirmed whether or not these rumors are true.
